Everything must come to an end

After days of great activities, we have to pack up and leave back for home.  We had a variety of days....It was hot and it was cold, it was dry and it was wet, but we can now say ,"We were there when it all happened in Kandersteg".

Scouting Sunrise

After the first few days of activities, including sightseeing, paragliding, water rafting and much more, today we had the peak of the 100 Years celebrations.  Up at 4:00am we  hiked to the mountain lake for Breakfast and the Scouting Sunrise Celebrations.  We descended back to find a number of activities waiting for us.  The day ended with a BBQ, a concert and fireworks.

Kanderjam starts in style

A great opening ceremony opened the doors to 10 days of international jamboree.  Music, dances etc... where all part of the magic.

Finally at the Kanderstag Scout Centre

We checked in and headed to our Camp Sites to start pitching the tents and setting up for the days to come

We missed the last train

We might forget some of the details in the years to come, but the fact that we missed the last train and had to sleep at the train station will be with us for the rest of our lifes.  Thanks to a very helpfull train station attendent, the arrangement was better than we could have hoped for.

The Maltese contingent meets at the Airport and departs.

At 3pm the first members of the contingent arrived at the Airport.  Some members of the UK contingent came by to say hi as they were still at the airport awaiting their departure.  The Chiefs, Deputy Chief and the Interational Commissioner were all present to give us there farewell.  We were soon on board and heading to Switzeland.

Maltese Contingents meet the President of Malta

Today, the Maltese Contingents travelling to Kanderjam and the World Jamboree in the UK, met the President of Malta and presented him with a commemorative token.  (Pictures Here)
